Security and Content

Privacy

When using a public Internet access station, users may have concerns about "cached" information that may remain on the kiosk when they are finished.  All cache, cookies, and Internet history (sites visited) are deleted when the user signs off (or after the kiosk remains idle) so that information about what one user did is not available to the next person to use the kiosk.

Content Filtering

As useful as the Internet can be, some of the the content is harmful and offensive.  This is not only a concern to parents whose children might be using an Internet access kiosk - accidentally stumbling across such sites is undesirable for anyone.  Kansas City Kiosks uses sites' own ratings, as well as filters to prevent the intentional or accidental viewing of pornographic and offensive web sites.
